College Credits

Seniors enrolled in Parkway West programs may earn industry certifications and college credits by:

  • becoming a completer

  • scoring Competent or Advanced on NOCTI exam

The NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) exam is a Standardized tests for students studying career and technical programs in the United States. It is the largest provider of industry-based credentials and partner industry certifications for career and technical education (CTE) programs across the nation. Whether using assessments to meet Perkins accountability requirements, to guide data-driven instructional improvement, or to assist with teacher evaluation systems, NOCTI provides a credible solution through its validated and reliable technical skill assessment.

Students Occupationally and Academically Ready

The Pennsylvania Department of Education supports career and technical education students aligning their high school courses to a college program in order to complete a degree, diploma or certificate. SOAR programs articulate skills and tasks gained at the high school level to course credit earned in a postsecondary degree, diploma or certificate program.
